There's an undeniable air of order and precision about this latest watch range.

More than 20 years after the introduction of the Tambour watch, Louis Vuitton presents new Tambour references in a more compact size, distinguished by casual elegance and fluid forms. &ldquo;With this launch, we seek to open a new chapter in the history of the Maison&rsquo;s watchmaking by creating a watch with strong horological credentials while being identifiably Louis Vuitton in style,&rdquo; Jean Arnault, Watch Director at the Maison, asserts. The unveiling of the new Tambour is marked by the release of two steel options: a tone-on-tone model with a silver-grey dial or a contrasting deep blue dial.

The case is 40 mm in diameter and 8.3 mm in thickness, making it comfortable to wear on the wrist, and houses a dial with 12 polished, raised characters reading &ldquo;LOUIS VUITTON.&rdquo; In many ways, every element of the watch appears to have a functional role. White gold Arabic numerals and indexes are diamond polished to maximise their light reflection, and telling time is easy&nbsp;thanks to Super-LumiNova in the hands and markers.&nbsp;
Featuring a mix of brushes and polished finishes, the watch&rsquo;s integrated bracelet is a first for Louis Vuitton. The bracelet links are tough and flexible, with a rounded shape, and instead of being flat, the case back rises in a taut arc towards the centre of the case. With the addition of this redesigned bracelet, the watch gains a characteristic sleekness. In terms of typography, there is &ldquo;LOUIS VUITTON PARIS&rdquo; as well as "FAB. EN SUISSE" placed below the snailed small seconds counter, creating a distinct look.

The beautifully crafted movement is powered by cal-LFT023 &mdash; conceived by Michel Navas and Enrico Barbasisni of La Fabrique du Temps, the Maison&rsquo;s watchmaking atelier in Geneva &mdash; and is the first proprietary automatic three-hand streamlined movement designed by Louis Vuitton in collaboration with movement specialists Le Cercle des Horlogers. The micro-rotor is made of high-inertia 22k gold and is linked with peripheral gearing to enable extraordinarily efficient winding to the barrel with 50 hours of power reserve on a 4Hz.
