Pharrell Williams, the creative director of Louis Vuitton Homme, has expanded his repertoire into the fragrance space with a new scent inspired by light.

A versatile and masculine perfume meant to smell like the summer sun,&nbsp;Pharrell Williams's newest&nbsp;Louis Vuitton&nbsp;creation is a collaborative effort that holds a lot of sentimental value to its creator. Named LVERS, a play on the word lovers while showcasing the house's iconic initials, this scent is meant to evoke a feeling of nostalgia in the wearer while providing a soothing and fortifying effect.&nbsp;
For his first perfume creation for the house, Pharrell called on French perfumer Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud to create a product that could "capture light." LVERS was also created in collaboration with Camille Cavallier-Belletrud, perfumer for the historic brand and daughter of Jacques. Pharrell thought this multi-generational approach would lend itself to a timeless and universal fragrance.&nbsp;LVERS also represents a unique entry into the catalog of luxury fragrances with its rarely-used main ingredient, Resin Galbanum. The creative director was immediately intrigued by its spicy and woody aroma and the fact that Louis Vuitton had not used it in years.

LVERS also features bergamot and ginger with base notes of sandalwood and cedarwood to complement its already woody and natural composition. At its core, LVERS tells the story of photosynthesis, the combination of nature and light, and the ability to use the two for growth and healing. The ingredients Pharrell has strategically chosen are all restorative in a way, offering a holistic dimension to the fragrance and giving truth to the term "elixir."&nbsp;
The LVERS bottle is meant to imitate liquid sunlight to cement the perfume's solar themes and scent notes. The golden liquid promotes a glowing effigy of the sun, while the graphics combine the Damier pattern, typical of the House, with camouflage, representing Pharrell's personal journey with the brand. The scent is meant to encapsulate&nbsp;summertime&nbsp;but was made for year-round use and purports to be ageless and genderless.
This scent's devotion to sunshine and light is a byproduct of Pharrell's personal philosophy. The artist is known for his upbeat style and internationally acclaimed songs such as "Happy" and "Freedom." Williams, as a songwriter, finds hidden meanings in life, and to him, sunlight is but a metaphor for love.
