Over the past six months, the covert actions of Balenciaga's headquarter have faced scrutiny from the entire culture. What transpired in November behind closed doors? And what significance does it hold when Demna's designs are reintroduced into the fashion discourse? This season's presentation provides a glimpse into Balenciaga's headquarters on Avenue Georges V, with devoted aesthetes bustling in and out of the entrance, while couriers, dog walkers, and skaters passed by. The film, directed by Mau Morg&oacute; in one continuous shot, creates an unending feedback loop, reflecting the exchange of ideas between the street and the atelier that has always fascinated Demna.

Balenciaga Spring 24 Collection

The Balenciaga Spring 24 collection consists of two parts: Garde-Robe, which offers Balenciaga's collection of sophisticated wardrobe essentials, and seasonal ready-to-wear components. Both sections pay homage to the concept of essentiality, emphasizing everyday items and the simplicity they represent (excluding the three ball gowns featured at the end of the film). The collection celebrates the mundane and effortless, showcasing the Balenciaga individual who remains undeterred even when faced with pouring rain, confidently going about their daily activities.
The Hourglass jacket, featuring a classic silhouette and luxurious black dry wool gabardine, sets the tone for the entire collection. Other refined pieces include a leather belted robe coat, an oversized blazer in grey Merino Prince of Wales fabric, and a dark brown bonded fake mink Balenciaga Lining Coat. In contrast, the collection also incorporates playful elements such as a towel skirt, an extravagant pant-shoe version of the Biker Boot, and a hybrid car coat combining beige cotton drill and blue denim. Denim stickers typically removed are instead used as branded accents on oversized jackets. Additionally, a parka coat is transformed into a unique cocoon neck dress, demonstrating the collection's experimental approach.
