A new timepiece for the 37th edition of the America&rsquo;s Cup.

It goes without saying that accurate timekeeping in athletic events, whether on land or in water, is of utmost significance, as it not only determines the victor but also ensures a synchronised start for all races. However, when it comes to open water competitions, the challenge level reaches new heights. This is precisely where a regatta countdown timer becomes indispensable.&nbsp;
With the highly anticipated 37th edition of the America&rsquo;s Cup in Barcelona on the horizon, OMEGA has just revealed the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Deep Black ETNZ Edition. The exquisite watch pays tribute to the world of competitive sailing and is the result of a remarkable collaboration between OMEGA and Emirates Team New Zealand. As OMEGA&rsquo;s President and CEO Mr Raynald Aeschilimann put it, &ldquo;Much like our friends from Emirates Team New Zealand, a year races by fast, so the time is right to show our true colours. Our race-ready watch looks as good as it performs and is a fitting tribute to the talented crews and the country they represent.&rdquo;
With a ceramic case that measures a mighty 45.5&nbsp;mm in diameter, 19&nbsp;mm in height and 52.4&nbsp;mm from lug to lug, the Planet Ocean Deep Black ETNZ Edition is a powerful watch. In addition to the scratch-proof case, the pushers, crown, unidirectional bezel, bezel insert and helium escape valve are all constructed from the same material. A brushed black ceramic unidirectional bezel with an enamel diving scale and a triangle-framed dot at 12 features a white Super-LumiNova that glows green in the dark, which perfectly matches the case's matte black ceramic finish. A sapphire crystal protects the dial, and the Naiad Lock case back displays the Emirates Team New Zealand insignia in turquoise fern and white text.

The matte ceramic dial features a turquoise accent against the otherwise understated black ceramic. Broad arrow points and Super-LumiNova inserts decorate the ends of the brushed steel hour and minute hands, whereas the special seconds hand features the America&rsquo;s Cup trophy counterweight. The countdown indicator, complete with the highlighted &ldquo;START&rdquo;, can be found at 3 o&rsquo;clock, immediately opposite the running seconds subdial located at 9 o&rsquo;clock. Aside from the &ldquo;He&rdquo; on the helium escape valve and the OMEGA insignia on the crown, the striking hue is also present on the rings of the brushed ceramic pushers.
The power reserve of this METAS-approved automatic chronograph is 60 hours, running at a&nbsp;frequency of&nbsp;28,800 vph, and it boasts a co-axial escapement with a silicon balance and hairspring. Last but not least, the watch has a black ceramic clasp and a black and turquoise structured rubber strap with turquoise stitching, and it comes with two additional rubber bands and two NATO straps in coordinating colours so that you can always find the perfect fit.
