The next chapter of Gucci high watchmaking.

Combining high watchmaking expertise with the finest of all stones, Gucci releases five novelties which include tourbillons, moonphase movements, and a new perpetual calendar. Firstly, the Dancing Hours Flying Tourbillon, GGC.1976.DS, inspires four new kaleidoscopic designs for the G-Timeless Planetarium. Dominated by the Orion Nebula NGC 197 tourbillon, two lunar-themed pieces are introduced in 2023: one with 12 Ethiopian opals set on a translucent blue background, and the other, a surreal pastel melange of topaz, peridot, amethyst and Ethiopian opals. Each precious stone spins independently for nine seconds and completes one clockwise cycle around the dial in 90 seconds when actuated by the crown. In addition, there&rsquo;s a reference that features rubies, fire opals, pink tourmaline and mandarin garnet as well as a star-themed model with four different coloured diamonds.

Secondly, paying tribute to the Maison&rsquo;s iconic bee emblem, the G-Timeless Dancing Bees collection exhibits 12 golden bees dance hypnotically over the dial when the wearer moves their wrist. Two stunning stone are used in honour of planet Earth this year. One has a vibrant pistachio green opal dial, enhanced by Gucci&rsquo;s exquisite stone marquetry savoir-faire, while the other has an intense turquoise dial that calls to mind the greenish and deep blue ocean water. The thin stones are polished to 0.45 mm, then split into little rectangles and neatly put on a 0.15 mm mother-of-pearl plate. The tourbillon inside a diamond crescent at 12 o&rsquo;clock is as precise as the craftsmanship.

Then, there is Gucci&rsquo;s high-tech moonphase calibre GGV383.MP with the wearer&rsquo;s birth information to create the G-Timeless Moonlight. Six gemstones representing the astral map are paired with six diamonds in a rehaut, corresponding to the zodiac signs and birthday planets. The crown at 2 o&rsquo;clock activates an internal ring with up to five letters or characters, an oscillating weight that displays the client's constellation, and a unique alligator strap. A tiny mother-of-pearl disc lies on aventurine glass on the dial. Using stacked dials, two more patterns are set in dramatic tones to spotlight the dialogue between the galaxies. Electric purple-blue lacquer on a mother-of-pearl dial enhances a fiery opal moonphase disc whereas the second design&rsquo;s aventurine glass on a thin mother-of-pearl base contrasts with the moonphase disc&rsquo;s green opal.

The Maison&rsquo;s ultra-slim 25H collection is also making a big leap forward this year. The Gucci 25H Skeleton Tourbillon has a floating bridge dial and 44 baguette diamonds on the bezel and 60 on the dial. A flying tourbillon at 6 o&rsquo;clock spins once a minute and will eventually be under the bridge. The new Gucci 25H Skeleton Tourbillon&rsquo;s contrasting rubber straps and vividly coloured bridges create a comparable design statement. This watch has an orange platine, pink flying tourbillon cage, purple barrel bridge, green bridges, and an electric blue winding stem with eight digits on each side. The geological chart, used by scientists and geologists, inspired the colours. Powered by the GG727.25.PC calibre, the Gucci 25H perpetual calendar complication watch displays the time, date, month, year, and moonphase and won&rsquo;t need updating until the year 2100. Its five-link bracelet or alligator strap fit perfectly and reflect the watch&rsquo;s slim 9.7 cm profile. The watch&rsquo;s sporty style and three gold and steel options launch the latest chapter of this renowned series. Available in 40 mm case size, the watch comes in 18K pink or white gold with gold skeleton hands and a trendy deep cobalt or black alligator strap, while right letters can be engraved on each of the stem&rsquo;s four sides. &nbsp;

Finally, it&rsquo;s none other than the retro yet playful Grip range. Debuted in 2019, it achieved immediate cult status thanks to its avant-garde attitude which blended the jumping hour mechanism with current minimalist style. The latest variations feature vintage-inspired brick red jasper or chrysoprase hard stones set in 18K pink gold with matched brick red or mint green display discs and alligator straps.
