The intertwining ideas of realness and fakery at Prada's latest menswear show.

The brilliance of Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons lies in their ability to design beyond the catwalk and the clothes themselves. Their pieces are fantastic, but they&rsquo;re also part of a broader, more meaningful conversation with the world. For SS25, Prada and Simons do what they do best, reimagining traditional menswear archetypes with uplifting silhouettes and a luxurious edge. Dubbed &ldquo;Closer,&rdquo; the collection blends reality and fantasy, urging us to question our perception of time and the objects that shape our daily lives. Delicate details on the menswear become visible up close but fade as the models walk down the runway. Traditional button-downs feature strong chest pleats and folded hemlines, while straight-cut trousers are belted below the waist with buttons replacing standard belt loops to hold personal items. Striped tees twitch with motion and others outline the human form with overdyed segments.

Prada’s Menswear Spring/Summer 2025 Fashion Show

There is plenty to wear here&mdash;radiating optimism and spontaneity, with a touch of childlike wonder. That stilt-based hut looks like it could be straight out of a child's drawing. That vibe resonates with superhero-inspired sweaters, simple shapes, and vibrant paint-bright colours. These echo the hues glowing from prints created in collaboration with the estate of mid-century Expressionist painter Bernard Buffet. The designers liken these prints to concert T-shirts, celebrating art rather than music. Every season brings spectacular collections, but Prada&rsquo;s venue remains constant&mdash;honouring its Milanese headquarters with jaw-dropping set designs that transport guests to the unknown. For Spring/Summer 2025, traditional straight-row seating is reimagined with curved benches winding through the runway, topped with a makeshift house pulsating with techno beats.
