The Spring/Summer 2024 menswear collection by Loewe was showcased at the equestrian arena of La Garde R&eacute;publicanine. Renowned personalities such as Brian Cox, Nicolas Braun, Omar Ayuso, Jermey Pop, and Pharrel gathered around artist Lynda Benglis' exquisite sculptural water-spouting fountains to witness the highly anticipated offerings by Jonathan Anderson for the legendary Spanish fashion house.
Anderson's proposal delves into the realm of perspective drawing, investigating the interplay between perceptions, scales, and their influence on silhouettes. Through an exploration of elongation, gesture, and innovative fabrications, the collection transcends its initial straightforwardness, transforming the subtle into the bold. Comprising blazers, coats, banker shirts, knitted polos, twin sets, argyle knits, jeans, and chinos, the assortment initially appears unassuming, yet conceals intricate twists and turns. Notably, the shoes seamlessly merge with trousers, creating an illusion of fabric emerging from the ground. The colour palette encompasses a cerebral range of soft pastels, solid blues, black, and khakis. However, it is the inclusion of diamonds that truly illuminates the collection, adding a captivating radiance.

In Anderson's post-show reflection, he expressed his intention to explore the contradictions inherent in both men and women, seeking to blur conventional boundaries. He emphasized that the collection conveyed a precise and luxurious message, achieved through a reduction of elements. While devoid of explicit figurative symbols, the collection retained Anderson's distinctive design signature, making it unmistakably his own.
