Embracing the ethos of "it's not about how long the rain falls, but how long we can dance in the rain," Mierul Aiman is a burgeoning star who is captivating the entertainment world with a novel allure it has long been craving.

In the serene ambience of a pristine studio in Kota Damansara, the entrance of a rising star goes unnoticed until his courteous, gravelly voice fills the room. Mierul Aiman, sporting a fresh-faced look with tousled curls, strides in, helmet in hand and clad in a sleek black jacket, a pair of dark orange shorts and trainers. He greets me with an enthusiastic wave and a wide grin, catching the attention of those nearby. Amidst the bustle, we share a quick embrace before settling in front of the vanity table for makeup and hairstyling in preparation for the photoshoot&nbsp;
"I&rsquo;m sorry for the mosquito bites; I've just returned from the jungle," he apologises. Engrossed in filming an upcoming drama series, the 25-year-old star remains tight-lipped about the project, tantalisingly describing it as "epic." Mierul's acting journey kicked off with a bang on the reality TV series Hero Remaja on Astro, where he dazzled audiences with his talent.

Before venturing into entertainment, he graced fashion magazine pages and starred in numerous commercial campaigns as a model. Despite wearing many hats, acting has emerged as Mierul's true passion, sparked during his time in Khairul Azwan Rozi's acting class &mdash; a tutor he reveres as one of the greatest. "I lost track of time in Khairul Azwan Rozi&rsquo;s class; it fuelled my love for acting with each session," he reveals. Encouraged by rave reviews from his debut stage performance, Mierul felt the pull of destiny towards acting, propelling him to dive in wholeheartedly and with determination.
Mierul has undeniably captivated audiences with his compelling performances on screen. His newfound fame owes much to the explosive popularity of Projek: High Council. This gripping series, conceived by Anwari Ashraf and Zulaikha Zakaria, offers a raw and unsettling portrayal of adolescents grappling with rampant gangsterism and bullying in a high school setting. Following its release in 2023 as the sequel to the 2021 hit Projek: Anchor SPM, it quickly became a phenomenon. The ensemble cast, comprising budding talents like Amir Ahnaff, Nadhir Nasar, Naim Daniel and Daiyan Trisha, soared to global acclaim.

"From the premiere of the first episode to reaching my first hundred thousand followers on Instagram, it felt like just a month," Mierul reflects (he now boasts 259k followers). The rapid ascent to fame was indeed a whirlwind experience. Initially uncertain of the show's potential, Mierul admits, "Nobody really knew if the show was going to be a hit, you know? It&rsquo;s strange because I thought it would kind of level off after the first few episodes, but the later episodes felt like it doubled in popularity."
Nonetheless, Mierul has long harboured a sense that this height of success would one day materialise in his life, having manifested it since his youth. "Growing up in Putrajaya and frequently visiting Kuala Lumpur was quite the experience," he muses. "I was immersed in the vibrant city culture and exposed to quality television series and films from a young age. I made a promise to myself that one day I would live in this bustling metropolis and pursue a career as an actor, and I held onto that belief. Now, it feels like I'm living in my dream," Mierul admits with a sense of fulfilment.

Acting has been Mierul's passion since childhood. While he entertained backup plans as he grew older, his dedication to the creative industry never wavered. For him, art is a profound expression of passion, and he finds joy in entertaining his audience through his performances. Recalling his earliest acting experiences, Mierul fondly remembers performing sketches for his parents when they returned from work. "My siblings and I would put together a little show just to make them happy," he reminisces. "I always landed the leading role with my siblings as the supporting cast," he chuckles. "Performing in front of them never made me nervous, instead, seeing their smiles and laughter brought me immense joy."
As a role model, Mierul's admiration for Cristiano Ronaldo runs deep, extending beyond mere athleticism to encompass values like determination, showmanship and teamwork. Ronaldo's iconic jersey number seven is especially significant to Mierul, symbolising the legendary player's impact during his tenure at Manchester United.

Drawing inspiration from Ronaldo's journey, Mierul sees parallels with his own path in the creative industry. He credits the importance of self-belief and a strong support system, acknowledging the pivotal role his family has played in his success. In a culture where parental support for performing arts aspirations isn't always common, Mierul's parents stand out as strong advocates, bolstering his confidence and belief in his abilities.
"My family means everything to me," Mierul emphasises. "They've been my steadfast supporters, believing in my passion for acting and encouraging me to pursue my dreams. Their faith in me strengthens my self-belief, motivating me to strive for excellence and reach my goals."
From the outset, while working on Hero Remaja, Mierul diligently rehearsed for his weekly engagements which often included acting and hosting assignments in front of his parents. "I feel they truly understand me and are always honest with their feedback," he says. "Their constructive suggestions help me refine my performances and strive for excellence." With their unwavering support and guidance, Mierul feels empowered to pursue his dreams with certitude and perseverance.

He underscores the importance of authenticity and staying true to himself, even in the face of fame's complexities. In Mierul's eyes, humility and kindness are not just virtues but guiding principles that steer him towards success in both his career and personal life.
Mierul emanates a blend of calm, self-assurance and eloquence in his speech, reflecting a deep understanding of himself and his aspirations. His enthusiasm is palpable, indicative of his passion for life. When queried about his life philosophy, Mierul shares, "I adore reading, and I stumbled upon a quote that resonated deeply with me: 'The strength of a dream lies in having faith in it, and faith can transform a dream into reality with determination.' As I approach my 26th birthday this July, this motto feels more pertinent than ever." 
Acknowledging that there's still much to explore in his career, life and the world around him, Mierul embraces the path ahead with zeal. "There's no better time for me to continue striving, learning from my missteps, forging connections and seizing every moment," he affirms. For Mierul Aiman, this is merely the inception of a promising passage of a star who will shine even brighter in time to come as he revolutionises the local filming industry with his fresh portrayals in storytelling and entertainment.
